Global Recession 2024. The baseline forecast is for the world economy to continue growing at 3.2 percent during 2024 and 2025, at the same pace as in 2023. There is now a 35% chance that the global economy will enter a recession by the end of 2024, and a 45% chance that it will do so by the end of 2025.
Chinaโs economy is also likely to achieve only modest growth. As in april, we project global inflation will slow to 5.9 percent this year from 6.7 percent last year, broadly on track for a soft landing.
